We have 2 excursions a week, one on a Thursday and one on a Sunday. The Thursday excursion leaves late morning and is usually to a local place of interest - where the travelling time isn't too long. Examples of places included in these excursions are Hampton Court, Windsor Castle and Oxford. On Sundays we have a full-day excursion, leaving after breakfast and then we can travel further afield, for example to Cambridge or Leeds Castle. On Sundays we also visit London - you will be certain to have at least one trip to London during your time with us. Our excursions are very carefully planned - we have someone working on this throughout the year and we know how to make them both interesting and educational.
Our activity programme is organised so that there is always plenty of choice. Whilst there are some fantastic sports facilities (including sports halls and swimming pools) we know that not everyone wants to play sports and so we offer a range fo different activities - dance, arts and crafts and for the first time this summer our award winning radio station - UICRadio where the children will have an opportunity to make and broadcast their own radio programmes.
The English classes are taught by specialist language teachers who have university degrees and additional language teaching qualifications. The academic programme is carefully designed by our Director of Studies and there is proper supervision and training of all our teaching staff.
We take the recruitment of staff very seriously - after all the programme is only ever as good as the people running it!
The only real difference between the 2 locations is the age range we teach. In St Marys Ascot the age range is 7-15, in St Georges 11-15.
