We organize excursions twice a week for students and for many this is the most exciting time. We know that London is one of the biggest attractions and we make sure that everyone has at least one visit to London – to see the sights and perhaps have the opportunity to do a little shopping. We treat the excursions seriously – they are not just a day out. We prepare properly for the excursions, spending some time in class to make sure you know a little about where you are going and why. The leaders who accompany you are all fully trained to be able to do a great job and will be able to help make the day truly memorable.
On Thursdays we leave school at 11.30 and visit well-known places which are not too far away and which can be visited in a few hours such as Windsor and Hampton Court. On Sundays we leave right after breakfast for a day long excursion – to London, Cambridge or Oxford.
On the days out you will take a packed lunch form the school but be back in time for a normal dinner in the evening. During the excursions you will be accompanied by UIC staff – on one day your language teachers and on the other the activity leaders. There are plenty of adults to make sure the trips are safe and also to be able to answer any of your questions. We spend a lot of time during the year planning the excursions (and actually walking them ourselves) to make sure that they are successful. We can be certain that the range of visits you go on will be exciting and add to your positive experience of UIC and of being in England.
