St Mary's Ascot

St Mary's School in Ascot is one of the country's leading Catholic girl’s school. We are very fortunate to be able to work with this school and have been running residential summer courses here for many years. In 2011 we will be running courses for children and teenagers from 7-15 there.

We are the only school here in the summer, so you will not be sharing the facilities with other organizations. We feel this is important and gives us the opportunity to make St Mary's a real UIC centre.

The facilities at St Mary’s are really spectacular, and include:

Indoor 25m swimming pool
Modern gym (big enough for 4 badminton courts)
Squash courts
16 tennis courts
modern bright cafeteria
modern arts and theatre complex (opened in 2008) with a 150 seat theatre
specialized room for teaching cooking
35 acres of fields including football pitches and track
Assembly Hall
Computer Room

In addition there are modern classrooms with all the necessary equipment,

Accommodation is arranged in rooms with different numbers of beds, the majority of the rooms are single but there are also twins, triples and a couple of rooms with 4 or 5 beds. For the younger students there are 2 dormitories with 12 and 16 beds and these are always in great demand.

Members of staff sleep in the same areas as the children to ensure safety and security. There are plenty of showers and toilets and obviously separate areas for boys and girls.

One of the great things about having such a long standing relationship with the school is that the staff there know us and know what we need. The cleaning and catering staff are the same as during the main school year, so the standards are extremely high. We have designated rooms for our staff - teachers' room, welfare room and office so we are able to properly manage the operations.

The school is on the outskirts of Ascot and is very safe and well protected. It is a 15 minute walk to the rail station and a further 5 minutes to the town. In Ascot you can find a post office, banks, supermarkets, coffee shops, a hospital and of course the horse race track. For shopping we organize regular trips to nearby bigger towns - Bracknell, Reading and of course London.
